As co-sponsor, CCS partners with our Academies to raise funds and implement top-notch, innovative academic and enrichment programs.
Investing in Young Learners – Educating 522 students from Age 2-5 each school day
Through our strong partnership with Lynch Early Education, our Academies now educate over 500 young students, most low- to moderate-income children of color (87%) in a total of 37 renovated and attractive classrooms. Our youngest learners are just 2 years old. We take this awesome responsibility seriously and utilize the newest learning, play, and support practices to provide the best educational experience possible.
Expanding on this work, Trinity Catholic has established a new partnership with the SEAL Foundation to provide focused support for students on IEPs (individual educational plans), bringing new and needed resources to respond to student learning gaps caused by COVID.
$2.5M Investment into STEAM and Teacher Retention
Thanks to the generosity of a local family foundation, SJPIICA and TCA will launch a comprehensive STEAM curriculum for all students from PreK through grade 8. This new effort complements the strong Bridges to Math/Illustrated Math program (also funded through philanthropy), which is already showing positive results. Research shows that underserved communities are not well represented in science, technology, and math
fields, and our focus on STEAM education for children under 14 is an important element to spark interest in these fields.
In addition to STEAM funding, a significant portion of this gift will boost teacher salaries, helping to reward and retain our talented teachers. Since beginning the pay-for-performance program, in which the top 20% of teachers receive a base salary increase of $10,000, Academy teacher retention rates have improved.
